Story or link to story: After our first day of hunting, we met up with our hunting partner, with about an hour of hunting light left. We were talking when he mentioned that he saw a little 2-point mule deer buck at the turn-around point on a side logging road earlier in the day. Still being able to shoot mule deer bucks in that region until the 10th of November, we hopped in the truck and took off. We arrived at the spot with enough shooting light left. While my dad and I geared up to brace the rough side hill produced by loggers, our hunting partner glassed the hill. All of a sudden, he goes "there! very top! the same buck with two does"! Me and my dad quickly hurried to the bottom of the hill. While I set up on a log, my dad cleared some brush in front, blocking the view of the buck. When the time was right, I squeezed the trigger on a buck that was quartering up the hill. I hit him just behind the heart/lung while my second shot took out the lungs. I was really excited to finally take my first ever buck!

The measure of a man is not how much power he has, it's how he wields it.

Hope that is ok for the story. If not, me and dad were heading to a spot, and saw two bucks up in a slash. I got out of the truck, set up, and the rest is history. It's my first buck.
