Does anyone with better typing skills want to do a summary of this thread?
It keeps regressing.

It needs to be stressed that we as BC resident hunters understand and stand in awe of the direct, vital, sacred connection between the hunted species and the rest of the environment, ourselves included. This is not based on race, ancestry, etcetera, but with direct, visceral communion with nature. Time spent in the woods.
We also respect the regulations as stipulated by the Ministry. If there was a complete moratorium on moose hunting to be observed by all hunters, I think we would understand and accept it. This would have to include measures to reign in industry, probably the worst offender. But to allow one user group special priviledges based on race and/or shakey historical evidence at best is simply wrong in Canada, 2012.
And to be cut off from the sacred connection between ourselves and our environment so others may commune is worse, and on a deeper level.

A moratorion for ALL hunters?
You must be jokeing!!
Do you know that -in most native languages= there is no word for moose?
Bec. moose moved into their 'traditional areas' in the past 100 years, following the opening up of the country by white people.
Will that be taken into account? You can bet on NO!!
coles note version 2.0
low moose numbers
habitat issues
poor management
FN year long unreported harvest
Misguided, hidden agendas
need for tough decisions on all levels by all parties
need for gov to step up and address all issues no matter how sensitive
need for cool heads and good science to get thru this
At least thats my view from Ontario....although its been several yrs since Ive hunted region 3 in your great province I do miss it terribly and hope this is resolved for all you guys...white and dare I say red.
