Just how does a person in the Terrace area start hunting?

Hi everybody. I'm new to this board AND to hunting. To be exact, I want to start hunting, and I need to get myself all liecnced-up. I gather that I need a CORE and a Pal (I'm wanting to bowhunt, but I want to also be able to use firearms), but I can't find out how to do this in the Terrace area. I even sent to BCWF for their book, but that was over 2 months ago, and I've heard nothing from them.

With all this confusion, how does anyone start hunting in this province?

And I thought it was complicated figuring out the fishing regs!!!

Look up a local fish and game club and go ask them about a membership. Hanging around like minded people will get you well on your way.

Call either Terry Morris or Darcy Netzl, they should be in the phone book. Pretty sure both guys do the Core course there may also be others. There were some rn in the fall not sure when the next one wil be.

You can get the book from the library -if not in, they can bring it in from another branch ...all for free !

I don't know Terry, but took a course put on by Darcy a couple years a ago - he's a good instructor.

Darcy is putting on a PAL and CORE course some time soon, next week maybe?....Terry Morris will also know. I am pretty sure you can pick up the books at Misty River Hunting and Tackle, they can also give you Darcy's number.
