This is my '89 YJ that i use as a daily driver and hunting rig, with 31 inch mud terrains and the 10 000lb winch it does the trick. (I'm pulling out a buddies Samurai in this pic with tow strap...).
88 sammi cold and slow but goes anywhere.
Haha i figured somebody would post that comment...
I have a dodge and a honda 4 trax thats about it for me .

We use an older Delica backed up by a lot of walking. The truck has a small reliable diesel that is reasonable enough on fuel that we use it as a daily driver.
I wouldn’t try ‘extreme’ 4x4 tracks or bolder crawling but it will go places my old Jimmy couldn’t. We sleep two adults and two kids inside. They look a little odd but probably cost about the same as high end quad.
I have decided to stick to the truck for this season and bring the dirtbike and a pack. A quad looks good though, a side by side looks sweet also, and a samurai seems a good choice too but will it go anywhere my truck wont? When you get to that size, is it a real advantage over a good 4x4 truck? I guess we will see what works this next weekend.
just add an baffle to the muffler and you should be good to go .
As for will a sammi go more places then a 4x4 truck well the answer is yes. I have had several sammi's,lj's ,tracker etc as well as toys fords and dodge and and there are several plavces that a small vehicle will go without protest that a lrge one wont.
Your truck although nice is a beast of burden and isnt designed for goat trails or thick scrub (its also to purdy) Is it locked rear and have minimum of a ltd slip up front? Is it regeared? does it have a winch that can pull it out?.
Compareing the the truck to an equally kitted sammurai or tracker is akin to compareing your bike to a quad and we both know the bike will get more places (or go around)with less fuss most of the time.
I think you will find the bike just fine in fact i can get along sidehills or washouts even on the ct 70 where a quad would have safety issues.
I'd go for the suzuki over a quad. It'd be cheaper, warmer, bigger and go most places a quad will. Downside is insurance and needing a bigger trailor (if you're not driving it there).
I would also weld the suzuki diffs up, put a 3" body lift in it with 31" tires (all cost next to nothing) and it would definitely keep up with a quad.
edit: cheap quad winches work well on the little suzukis too!
