    Crossbreed deer???

Just retrieved my T cam that had been out for a couple months, you can see the one deer that moves from right to left, coming more toward the cam, looks very much like a whitetail. It's tail from the first pic looks very much like a whitetails, and it has the raccoon eyes that whitetails have as seen on the second pic. I thought that whitetails and mulies don't like to hang out, so is it a pure whitetail just hanging with mulies, or a cross-breed that is tolerated by them?? Opinions all....

It's a purebred whitetail that I believe just so happened to be passing by your camera the same time some Mulies were hanging out feeding.

Ya, ok that's what I thought since it also has WT ears ie much smaller...I've been out there and heard WT's wheeze snort at mulies, that's why I thought they can't stand each-other...and most areas I go, I see pockets of one species or the other, rarely do I see the different species occupy a small area together..

There is something odd in the top photo ....
Center of the photo .... Mule deer in front of the tree .... look at where the 'rump' should be. The outline of the tree is visible.
Look at the second photo at the same tree in the center. Doe has moved. Compare ? ?

Whitetails and Mule deer often mix ......

    Good pics

I've seen lots of WT and muley does band up.

I got snookered a few years ago, walking along a skidtrail and a bunch of MD does crossed single file in front of me. Figured that was it until a nice fat WT doe crossed with them, and this was during WT doe season and I had freezer space available! Let yer guard down for 2 seconds and look what happens!
