I bought a new back-up bow for an up-coming trip. And of course neither of the presses that I use now will work on the PSE Bow Madness because of the past-parallel limb design.
So time to bite the broadhead and get to work on a press that will do all of them. I hate spending money on things that I can build for a fraction of the cost and I can often take advantage of cheap labour [mine] and incooperate improvements.
So here is the raw press. I'll use it a bit and make any adjustments/additions before I take it apart and paint it.
Because I'm a saver/scrounger, I have less than $65 into it so far. It's based on the EE-Z press which retails for about $500.
A few pieces gathered up.
The limb fingers and mounts
Main tube with bearing mount welded on. The Acme threaded rod with a bearing seat welded and machined
I will consider different mounting options for a while before I committ. It may go on a stand or just clamp to a bench when I need it. A pivot is also an option, buy I'm not sure how usefull.
I also need a heavy hand wheel to turn the scew with, about 6" - 8" in diameter, if anybody has one.
