    MU 6-9 I Goats Hazleton/Rocher Deboule

    Hi there,

I’m hoping someone out there has some experience hunting goats outside of Hazleton in the Rocher Deboule mountains?

I see a few older posts, but would be grateful to anyone who has hunted there recently and has any information to offer, specifically on which of the many trails in that area gives the best access to goat country.

I put in for an LEH and want to start doing the prep in the hopes that I’m lucky enough to get a draw.

Would likely be hunting solo in late September/early October.

    Thanks in advance,

    Pete

If you drive about 10km west of Moricetown (Witset) there is a old mining road turned quad trail that starts on the left side of the highway just before Boulder Creek. The road may now even be difficult with a quad but it will take you up to treeline. Google earth shows the road following the left side of the creek heading up the range.

Grootsky.. that’s great, I hadn’t noticed that one. Looks a likely way to get up in there! Thanks.
