After work on friday the 4th my hunting partner John and I left langley on our way to Quenel for the first leg of our trip. Just past maclease lake I finally filled my doe tag with my truck at 130 am, no damage luckily. 3 hrs sleep and off the PG to pick up rick and the snow machines and off to Pink Mt.
We rolled in to the air strip at 8 p.m. set up camp, found firewood and caught up on some sleep. In the morning we decided to gather some more wood before we went hunting and found out that my truck would not start. Bad luck would have and the controller for my alarm froze and would not let me start the truck . After much fiddling around and angry words we decided to at least go out and have a look around. 25 or so kms out and we find some old sign so we parked the machines and decided to walk a game trail and see what we find. Half hour latter we spot two bulls through the timber about 70 yards away. The first one I saw was looking straight at me and I did not want to take the shot . He would have to turn sooner or later so I was just waiting when the other bull moves into my view. He starts walking broad side to me and I had a small window between some trees. So it went head, shoulder, crease the boom. He walked 20 yards and tipped over with the first bison watching 10 yards away. When I finally got up to my bull the first bison decided to leave and slowly walked away. Time was 130 p.m. and now the work began. We pulled half of him out that night and decided to go back for the rest in the morning.
Monday morning on our way out I se some workers at a well head and decided to ask for a tow out to the highway so I could get my truck fixed. The one guy had a unimog and offered as long as we where back by 2 p.m. as he had chores to do at home. Off we went and made it back with and hour to spare.
John tried one last idea and pulled my battery terminals to see if it would reset and it worked . Now the relief sets in and so we decide to have a celebration with the group that was near us as they came back at dark with there two tags filled.
In the morning we packed up and stopped off at the Pink Mt motel for breakfast then back to PG.

For those that want to know, one shot with a 30/06 180 grain nosler partion.
