    Lower mainland Blacktail

After a brief talk with swamper tonight, he asked me if I'd posted my deer pictures from opening weekend. Well here goes. I took this 4x4 Sept 12 with my son, in behind Mission. The best part was having my son with me for his first animal. (He spotted it before I did) I think he's hooked. It really is a 4x4 there's a little point just above my son's left hand. Little but there!!!!!!

Thumbs up Re: Lower mainland Blacktail

Wow that is a nice looking animal. Congrats on that one for sure. It's great to see some parents taking their kids out hunting and hearing that they enjoyed the experience.

Thanks all for the kind words. I think the thing I'll remember the most is his eye's when he realised the buck wasn't getting up. And then the look on his face when he looked back up the hill from where it fell. Kid earned his keep that day. I just told him "the harder the work the sweeter the meat".

That is a great looking Blacktail....Those mullie hunters don't understand how hard it is for us down here to get those.....
It's ok to get excited, just learn to control it.....If you don't get excited, might as well go home!!

Man, i misread that - i thought you said it was YOUR first animal for a second. I thought "its his first - and he shot a FOUR POINT? Behind MISSION!?!? What the hell's he gonna do for an encore!?!?" :P

Great animal bud - and it's great your son was there. I don't think there's a more memorable thing for a kid than spending time hunting with his dad.
