    Drifted the Stamp today

Well we hammered the lower river, but only came up with 3 steelies. 2 chrome bullets, one about 7 and the other about 9lbs. Also a fairly clean summer run in the 8/9lb range. We had to work for them though, saw more guys on the river today than any other day last year and only one person we spoke to had gotten into more than one steelie and several drew a blank, so we did ok. The river is coming down after those rains and is clearing up nicely. If the freezing level stays where it's at the water will be prime in the next couple days. Couple guys with no permits for their jets, only a matter of time til they get nailed by the CO, enjoy it while you can boys.

Landed two, lost one on Christmas eve day afternoon. All bright, nothing big. Fished from the bank above the Rifle range. Saw one guy leaving with a fish. Except for a couple of boats going by, had the place to myself. The AM fishers must have called it a day, it was pouring out. Water was high but fishable, nice colour. Fish were hooked where I'd normally be standing under normal conditions.
