    My first bow is here

Well guys and girls my very first compound bow is here. Arrived today. I have been practicing with a recurve for a while but have not given the time it deserves for me to get good enough to hunt with it.

So here it is. A Bowtech BlackCat from Hunter's friend.

    50-60lb limbs. Set for 55lbs
    29inch draw length
    Brace height 8.4375
    ATA 32.3125
    string loop
    Wicker biscuit rest
    Viper eliminator sight
    Alpine Pro-flex stabilizer
    Bowtech hush kit
    Bowtech vibrablocks
    peep sight (1/8"medium Shurz)
    Trufire release
    Hard flambeau bow case
    Bowtech detachable quiver
6 carbon arrows with practice tips
    3 125gr muzzy broadheads
    4"vanes @4degrees offset
IBO speed was 310fps but after set up and arrows chronographed averaged 240fps with a kinetic energy of 49.9ft-lbs

Soooooooo, I am still learning what all that crap means but I can't wait to get out and practise with it. Merry Christmas to me

Hey Elkhound , Good on you and if you can I suggest you make the 3-d indoor at Abbotsford Jan 13-14 . Get sighted to 40yd and you are set. This is a good learning shoot with no arrow loss .
Good luck on your bowhunting adventure!!!!!!!

That's an excellent first time Bow, and could definitely last you for a long time....A good forgiving brace height, with carbon arrows and a mechanical release, I think you will be surprised at how well you will do with some practice....

    Good luck, and Merry Christmas

Well had it out for the first time yesterday. This archery thing is a blast. Getting groups of about 3-4inches at 30m so far. Will practise more. especially practising how to judge different ranges. Anyway......this is alot of fun. Can't wait to go shoot some more.
