of to 8 of any species WITHOUT the restrictions you note, so 8 mallards, 8 widgeon, 8 gaddies, 8 bluebills, 8 teal, 8 shovelors..

BUT, you can only have 8 DUCKS total in one day..

I feel for you if you get 8 shovelers. I had 2 a while back and they were more than a little fishy.

well if you think shovelers are fishy wait til you try eating a bufflehead. Like eating a ball of fish mush.

Hi Ian I have a little confused by the daily bag limits for the species of ducks ,you meant I could get mallard/widgeon/gaddy/bluebill/teal/shoverlor either one species 8 in one day or combine 4 pintail or 4 canvasback and add 4 mallard to make it into 8 ducks,is it correct ?but couldn't make 8 pintail or 8 canvasback a day,is it right ? but how comes I couldn't find the name of the ducks and the daily bag limits you mention of from the Reg ?by the way is there any website you know can show me some pics of the ducks, that would help me a lot!!! thank so much.

Your combined limit is 8 ducks so you could have 4 mallard 2 pintail and 2 cansvas back. As long as the limit doesn't exceed 8 but the ones listed in the regs are species limits so you can only shoot what ever amount are specified in the regs plus other ducks up to a limit of 8 total.
