Was wondering if any of you guys designed, fabricated anything over the years to make your life easier in the woods and to cut down on the things you take when hunting on extended trips far from home? Always on the look out for interesting projects to do and the wife says that if I'm busy then her life is a lot easier cause I'm not tormenting her. Go figure! But whatever it takes to get a guy into the shop, right?
But anyway to get the ball rolling I have been working on a hunting trailer for a while now. It is designed to carry my quad and a small fishing /duck boat. It has a built in loading ramp,(doubles as a table). Ladder storage rack on one side and fender and wheel well boxes for misc. items. Just finished my latest mod. It involves installing an 8' removable shelf down the left side of the trailer that is supported on the water and gas can racks( guy can never have enough gas and water) and serves as a cooking and food prep area. Overhead I installed an arm off of the boat rack that supports a coleman lantern for those late night snacks. It makes a setting up in a remote area a cinch after a long drive. I've done other things to make life more comfortable in the great outdoors like building wall tent stoves, internal frames, portable showers and so on... Just looking for some more interesting projects to keep me out of trouble. Oh, by the way, probably the best install on the trailer was a wall mounted bottle opener on the box, for those of us who enjoy a cold bottle of beer and are to tired to twist the neck off of anything after a hard day of hunting.
