is a .270 good enough for moose?

ok so me and my dad and his friend got 2 bull moose draws in 7-23 i think it is and my dad is wondering if a .270 is good enough to take down a moose from 200-300 yards away.

    Adam,

Yes it is enough to drop a moose at 200 - 300 yards as long as he hits the vitals.

I have very little experience with a 270 but I watched my brother shoot a young bull with his 270. The moose trotted about 20 yards and fell over. Looked good enough to me

A clean shot in the vitals with a .270 will kill any moose on the planet. It may have a little less margin for error than a bigger gun, but I'd call it still very adequate with any of the heavier loads.

IMO.......No. Don't shoot moose with a .270 My experience with people from down south is that they can't hit the broad side of a barn. No offense.........I hope you're not one of those people. That said, I know guys who shoot a moose with the .270 every year and swear by them. You got to hit them right.
