    Newbie LEH question???

Hi all, I'm just looking at the LEH synopsis here and I'm confused about one thing, there are 2 areas' in M.U. 8-15, one is reffered to as "Granby" one is reffered to as "Kettle". There is no "Zone" assigned to either of these hunts nor is there a map in the map section identifying them. Now if I'm reading the regs correctly it says that if there's no zone assigned to the hunt you want you can hunt the entire M.U. is this right? The specific hunt codes I'm reffering to are 8079 and 2118. Hope this make sense, and as always thanks in advance for any help.

I think its the same area. If you look at the moose shared hunt and mule deer for 8-15 its called Okanagan. Hope this helps.

P.S. you only have 12 days and counting to get it to Victoria.

kishman: you have to read the headers
-hunt 8079 is White tail deer, open to new hunters only in Area 8-15 Kettle
-hunt 2118 is an Elk hunt on "Private" land- Area 8-15 Granby

8-15 is a big area, you will have to determine which animal you are hunting first, then determine if you qualify for the new hunter status
-then start questioning why one is labelled Kettle, and the other Granby
-maybe because one hunt is in the Granby watershed, and the other is in the Grany watershed. Both are major rivers in that area.

Only the hunt codes 2116 and 2117 in 8-14 are Private land hunts

    Re: Newbie LEH question???

Check with the MOE. as the Kettle river is in fact in 8-14. So, is the typo error on the area name (kettle vs. granby) or is the error in the region (8-15 vs. 14 ) ????????
I suspect that both hunts 8079 and 8069 should read 'granby'.

Thanks for the info mrdoog, I do qualify for the new hunter draw, but unless I'm reading it wrong 2116 and 2117 are private land hunts and 2118 is 3 points or better, no land restriction???? So much info to go through

    Re: Newbie LEH question???

    Oops, Ozone is correct
-hunt 2118 is in fact for Elk, 3 point or better
-2118 does not indicate a land restriction

    my apologies

Kishman ..put your LEH in for 8-15 and don't worry about the names....You want whitetail doe for 8-15 and Bull ELK for 8-15 ...either Granby or Kettle means the same area..... Both rivers run through 8-15...
