    More Grouse

We've seen more grouse in the past 3 days than in the past 3 months combined. It's much more fun this way.

Spirit is just over 10 months now.

I had the best year for ruffed grouse in many a year this year. Every day I would see tons on the road and in the bush. Pretty much how last year was for blues. Plenty in the freezer now =)

Cool dog vest! Is that to keep his chest safe from stumps and sticks?

    Thanks for the kind words.

Spirit is sporting the latest in dog safety wear. The VestHarness is actually designed for in car use. You buckle it into the seat belt system in your vehicle. We've been using it as a chest protector in the bush as well. They hold up pretty well to sticks and stubble. The one he is wearing in the photo has been retired (waiting to worn by the next puppy, in a couple of years) for the next size up. The new one covers more of his chest and upper abdomen almost to his hook, much more protection.

The only pheasant I've seen this year is the one the guys from work hit with one of the trucks.

Nice pics. Big fan of the O/U's. Is that a Citori 525?

Good eye, close it's just a White Lightning. Love it, a bit heavy to carry but I'm stronger for it.

We're already chafing for next season, hope it's at least half as good as this year.
