Shot a few rabbits as a kid in Saskatchewan. My grandmother cooked them up for us. Shot a few more later on and my father told me to cool it on the rabbits as most of them have cysts due to out of control inbreeding. My grandma cooked them to be nice I'm thinking.
Since then I've never shot a rabbit.
Anyone here encounter this problem?
Did your father ike eating rabbit? Maybe that's the answer to your dilema.
Rabbit(s) taste great (*when prepared properly) and you're doing your part for population control as well.
*I tried to BBQ a really nice 3 1/2 lb wild rabbit this past summer. I should've done it in the crock pot or the pressure cooker instead. It would not have turned out to tuff to eat!! Lesson learned, and remembered.
