    west koots hares

hey all, Im moving back home to the west koots after a 5 year stint in vancouver. Just wondering if i will find any chances to go after snowshoe hares over the winter. As a kid growing up there i just never went looking for them and am unsure of the population. Plan on tracking them on snowshoe but am going in with no idea of tactics, types of location etc. any info is much appreciated

Usually I see them on old, grown in roads, with lots of alder coming out of the ditch, in areas where the regen is dog hair thick...

If you can find a place where they have been doing any juvenile spacing/slashing etc that is always a magent if they are in the area...

Hopefully there is snow on the ground too and you can see where the wascally wabbits have been crossing the roads/trails......

A dog would be a great asset for kicking them out of the thickstuff...
