Just curious what time of day our members have been droping their toms? I would expect morning but have any droped one in the afternoon> mid day?

Over 90% of the toms I dropped the hammer on and those that fell to hunters I guided have been in the morning (about a half hour after dawn) to late morning. Just before noon and in the afternoon hours gobbler action drops sharply. That’s the time when the hens head for their nests. In the early evening hours gobbling picks slightly up again as the birds return to their roosting tree, but nothing much to get exited about.
Didn’t you pay attention in my seminar when I talked about the best times to kill a tom?
"Wouldn’t it be wise for us to be more tolerant of each other and pick our battles with the ones that really threaten our way of life?"
Ive called em in anytime in the day! Same as elk!
Hunt to live-live to hunt!

Gobblers in the morning.....
Gobblers in the evening.....
Gobblers at supper time....

When the sh*t hit's the fan ... You need a Redneck Man ......
On a more serious note I too have found the morning the best, however you do not always have to call them they can be patterned like deer and then you just need to be at the right place at the right time.
