I am hoping to shoot some rabbits before bear season and I have always wanted to try them, hoping they taste good.

They are real good!! Cook them with your favourite recipe for chicken. If its an older or larger one it may be chewier so slow cook it or make a stew.

When I was a kid my mom used to make rabbit pie.
Cook the rabbit in water with a little salt and some chopped onion. Not a lot of water just enough to simmer until you can pick all the meat off the bones.
In another pot cook up a mess of potatoes, drain and mash them with some butter salt and pepper.
Cut the rabbit meat up and add it to the mashed potatoes with poultry seasoning to your liking and some chopped onions.
Put the whole mess in a pie shell and bake it in the oven. This is delicious hot out of the oven and really good cold.
