New Record non-typical Elk

Just thought I would share this. I received an email from my father in-law today who lives in Salt Lake City. An article was run in their local paper about a new #1 B&C non typical elk shot down there this season.





Like any animal that breaks a record, there is probably all sorts of controversy about this animal. But, I checked the Boone and Crockett club website and as of January 2/09, it is confirmed as the new #1 non typical. So, it was accepted as a fair chase hunt.

The article stated it was a special permit elk hunt that was auctioned off for $150,000. The guy was guided by Mossback outfitters who is well known for their quality elk. I didn't check out the outfitters website, but apparently there is a video clip of the hunt on there. I'm sure it will also come out on one of their next video's.

ya that bull is massive and there was a lot of people out chasing that bull...the specail permit gave the hunter longer time to hunt him and get him

Thats a lot of antler!! Nice if you can afford it. If he went with Mossback all he had to do was pull the trigger, they are extremely good at putting people onto big animals.
