Half day on the Marsh part II

Well we had so much fun last time we decided to give it a go again today. Was a decent day on the bay a bit foggy and quiet. For the longest time we were the only two on the bay.

I got to witness an incredible shot from HuntNHookSport. 3 widgeon came into the pocket with their landing gear out and I was taking aim at the one on the left when Josh fired. All 3 ducks hit the water. I'm like WTH? He shot all 3 of them in one shot! I said how am I supposed to get any ducks if you're going to hog them all like that

Today we had a bit more variety with a Sprig Pintail joining us and a beautiful Barrows Goldeneye.

Marshall is doing better in the boat every time we go out. This only being his 4th time in it. It's so funny as you can feel him tense up in the boat when the ducks are working the decoys.

Here are a few pictures of the boat set up and all the ducks we got today.

Mark's Momarsh boat is mo faster, mo lighter, and mo sleaker than my poor man's marsh boat....but today I shot mo ducks. Shooting 3 in 1 sure brings up the average. Now that I have hunted the bay from a boat I could never go back to the old way.

The Pomarsh Heavyboy: 12' Lowe jon boat with a FA layout blind on top. Reno's head is sticking out of the left side.
    Hooked on quack.

The Pomarsh Heavyboy ROFLMAO god did I ever laugh reading that.

I feel your pain, when you get caught on the mud flats. and have to try and drag that boat to water. That thing is heavy, was it full of water when you got home?

Again had a great time on the marsh. Seems I spent most of today retrieving stolen ducks that Marshall took off of Reno every time a bird hit the water. I've got to teach that dog to share.

I was thinking the same thing when I was looking at the pictures and his head looked bigger then mine. Surprisingly with that big head of his sticking out ducks continued to come into our spread. I guess the color helps blend it in.

i know what you mean mark with sitka my lab i've been surprizzed that the ducks will still land in the decoys when she is out walking around i would call her back to sit and the ducks will still land kinda thought that was weird but the ducks don't seem to mind
