A few pics and a video of post season training

Here's a link of my wife and I training our 1 1/2 year old golden. She had a great first season, and is coming along very well. I resisted getting a golden having always been a lab guy, but my wife insisted. Now I doubt I'll ever be without one. I hope you all are enjoying the off season as much as I am.

Maddy started last season at 77# but was 70# at the end of the season. She's a bit small but definately has the big heart needed for retrieving! Geese can be a struggle but at the end of last season she did well with all of them.

Great pictures and videos. The last time I was involved in waterfowl do training was with my father many years ago. Once we have moved and settled in our new home we’re thinking of getting another dog that I can train for waterfowl and upland hunting. Gazu, our longtime family pet is a great companion and friend with a big heart but he does not like hunting.

Nice to see a golden in action, looks like he's coming along great. So when is the big move happening?

Dano 70 lbs for a female lab is a big girl. I'm sure she can handle anything that hits the ground or water.

My Chessie Marshall is just shy of 8 months and weighs 87 lbs so far and he's still growing. I've got him retrieving thawed birds from last fall and hoping to get him his Working Certificate this summer and work on his junior hunters as well before the season starts. He's in the show ring this weekend here on the Island in Mill Bay if anyone is attending it this weekend.

your dog training looks like it was better than mine:

I got some black paint for ya......may help out in the retrieving department.
1st Im in charge, and if not Matt is. Your job is to sign checks, tell us we're doing good and open your case of scotch after a good day. 2nd my fee. You can keep it, all I want in exchange for my service is the right to hunt all the drakes. A male. Buck only. Why and how are my business. If you don't like it, go alone. Set up right here or in a swamp or in the middle of a noshoot field for all I care. I've been on too many duck hunts with rich dentists to listen to any more suicidal ideas. Ok?
