Nice looking bird for sure, but what a weird name. Sounds like another bird
with a not so good reputation in some places.
Yeah the Euro duck we call it!LOL
A few make it over here, pretty rare. I saw a couple in Beacon Hill park in Victoria a few years ago.
When I works, I works hard; when I sits, I sits loose; and when I thinks, I falls asleep.
They are a rare bird. Worth getting mounted for sure.

Beautiful rare bird. I have only seen one before and that was at a pond near my house. Beautiful mount.
Longshot
I have got 2 in the last 2 years i am getting one mounted 2.
We see them every year at Beacon Hill Park in Victoria. In fact, I saw one yesterday. They migrate our way from western Siberia and are an uncommon visitor to out coast. It's a great birdfor a mount. The females look virtually the same as the female widgeons that we normally shoot. I hope to shoot one one day.

We've got a pile of widgeon on this coast compared to the east. I was looking at some this afternoon but no Euro's that I could tell.
