    red head wigeon mount

    January I shoot down this bird,it's amazing looking fowl.after looking for many information ,I think it is a nice hybrid,it is not easy to see,so decided to made it a mount on my wall!

    That my friend is an Eurasian widgeon not a hybrid.

    Nice looking bird for sure, but what a weird name. Sounds like another bird
    with a not so good reputation in some places.

    Yeah the Euro duck we call it!LOL
    A few make it over here, pretty rare. I saw a couple in Beacon Hill park in Victoria a few years ago.

    They are a rare bird. Worth getting mounted for sure.

    Beautiful rare bird. I have only seen one before and that was at a pond near my house. Beautiful mount.

    We see them every year at Beacon Hill Park in Victoria. In fact, I saw one yesterday. They migrate our way from western Siberia and are an uncommon visitor to out coast. It's a great birdfor a mount. The females look virtually the same as the female widgeons that we normally shoot. I hope to shoot one one day.

    We've got a pile of widgeon on this coast compared to the east. I was looking at some this afternoon but no Euro's that I could tell.
