    Ending the season with a bang...bang,bang

    Tanya's hubby John here;

    We did make it out for a short hunt this morning. It was fairly slow but we still managed 11 birds including two in a mad scramble after we took the hero shot.

    Our setup.

    Rain making a retrieve.

    The end result which was interrupted by more birds.

    Good going John and Tanya, those pictures bring back some fond memories unfortunately I had to work today with no holidays left for this winter so I wasn't able to get out for the last kick at the cat. Next fall will be a different story.

    Awesome! Nice to see a little more of the set up, hunting a flooded corn field is one of my dream hunts!

    I had the opportunity to hunt private land in the Cowichan Valley yesterday. We were asked to be selective and keep our shooting to a minimum. We downed 14 in 36 shots.

    Another duck season comes to an end . Great pics looks like you will have good eating for a while.

    Got out yesterday for a few hours with my dog Roux. For the last two weeks whe was illl and I couldn't take her out, but she was good to go for the last day. Not much happening where we were, but we did get a couple of drakes to end the season. Brought the home and showed them to "Beau" and he kind of went wild. Couldn't get him to stay still for a photo. He likes ducks too.

    Great pics everyone. Nice to see there were birds around all over. Looks like we have built up quite a few duck hunters on the site from the few we had a couple years ago.
    I'm looking forward to next years duck season already!

    BTW, is there a spring goose season outside the lower mainland?
