    howd everybody do so far?

    Haven't had alot of time this year to come on here an see how everybody did waterfolwlin' I posted a few pics today from early season. Was a good season fer me i hope everybody else did as well! My "robo duck" was amazing! Definitely would recomend one to all. The birds come in by the hundreds to it. Spent alot of time watching them come in as i already had my limit.......so shot pictures instead. Still need to work on my calling as i scared as many away as i called in i think.....but definitely improved over last year!

    Well I've only been out a couple of times this fall. Once out Hunting with Ian.F in November for sea ducks where we got a mix bag of Scoters, Harlequin, and two Canada Geese .

    Then after Christmas I had the pleasure to be invited out with HuntNHookSports and Sikanni Stalker for some ducks on the bay. We didn't slaughter them but we definitely had a good time nocking down a few Hen mallards and widgeon. I also received my new waders and jacket just in time so it was an awesome experience.

    On another outing I finally managed to connect with my first green head mallard since I moved to BC in 2003! I also shot a green wing teal that I didn't expect to see this late in the season.

    We've been whacking them pretty good around nanaimo. Came home with 4 malards and one goose on sunday. Not bad for 2 hours.

    Hi Craig,
    I fixed up your pics for you.

    We have had a pretty good year out at the Pitt. Some great days and a couple really poor ones which is unusal as it's usually not too bad. Three times this year we brought home 6, 2 and 1 bird.... This past sunday I didn't fire a shot and Tom and Dan shot once each. In the past couple years I've done well the last week so I'm hoping this year rights itself and we get a couple more decent shoots.
    On the plus side, I've met up with some HBC'ers. Took James and Kyle out a few weeks ago (they don't post much but read the waterfowl section all the time). We see them out all the time and they manage a bird or two most days. Tom and I saw them at the parking lot and invited them to join us and they had a great day. I think we shot 16 mallards and a widgeon between the 4 of us and the boys made some good shots and learned a few things too. They hunt near me so it's always good to make friends with the neighbours!
    Last sunday, we got to the blind and as I passed Tom's bag up to Dan in the blind I heard a "plop". I looked down and there was a pocket warmer packet floating so I passed it to Tom. When Tom checked his bag it had an open zipper at the bottom and his wallet was missing. It contains his DL, PAL, Alberta Win card, and some ID (but no money or credit cards, it's his hunting wallet). I stuck my arm into the water where I found the packet and felt around, the water was almost up to my elbow and it was freezing! No luck. We returned to the ramp and looked around, not there either so I started the truck and went to clear the windshield. There was the wallet under the wiper! I figured it was my buddy "Buck" from the site who had put it there but he knew who did. Our good buddy Ian was out sunday and had found it on the launch. It sure made a bad day hunting a lot more pleasant. Thanks again Ian!
    So another good year with HBC connections helping to make it better whether we were helping others or they were helping us.
    Good luck guys in the next week, I hope to go on the weekend and the last wednesday.

    Only been out three times, but have done well. We got a puppy in early December which slowed down things and then last week my 5 year old toller "Roux" ate something and came down sick. She'll be OK but out of hunting comission until next week. That only leaves a few days to go hunting, but we'll be out.

    Tanya's hubby John here;

    We had a little bit slower year for geese, But the best duck hunting ever in my 35 years of hunting them.
    A combination of some crop being left in the field and wet weather.

    Be one hell of a season to top for me, and there still is late geese and brant to come!

    Hunted with some good buddies, and made some new friends largely thanks to HBC, thanks Marc!
