Have not ordered off alibaba. I looked into ordering some stuff but I believe you have to order more than 1 item, Maybe 5-10 or 10-50 to get bulk discounts. I have ordered lots from Temu and from Aliexpress. Alibaba is not a scam. They have been around quite some time.

I have ordered from them, but not expensive stuff. Just wooden boxes. I think its all pretty legit, the factories produce something for someone and then they make more as knockoffs is what I suspect. Happened with helinox and their chairs for sure.

An acquaintance of mine purchased from Alibaba an inflatable boat with a motor from the same manufacturer as a boat displayed in a Victoria Marine showroom. He bought two of them and they were half the price of the one in the showroom. It took a while to arrive, he then sold the second boat, which paid for the first one.

Few years ago I bought a Heavy Duty Sewing Machine (Patcher for Leather like a Singer 29). After I paid it took about a month then I get an email the Machine is no longer available. The want to refund my Money. I told them Hell no you had my Money for a month and now I want this Machine no matter what. 2 Month or so went by then another email, the have my Machine and if the could do anything extra for my long wait. I wrote back, a few extra Bobbins and Bobbin holders would be nice. The Machine showed up and with it 5 lifetimes Bobbins and Bobbin holders. And yes the Machine does everything a 29 Singer can do, just not as pretty to look at.

I think I paid arround 250.** all in for everything, a worn out Singer would have cost me 750.** minimum.

Will buy via Ali Baba (Ali Express) again, there Prices are unbelivable cheap on some things but be prepared to wait a bit.

There's some videos on youtube of guys testing the chinese outboards.. yamabisi I think it was, haha. 100% yamaha knock off. Anyways, maybe watch a few of those before you decide. seemed to me they functioned just fine. I still dunno if I would buy one.

Does Ali ship by Canada Post? If so, be aware that they are on strike. I placed an order from the US that was delayed during their last strike, and I haven't received it yet.

Of all items I have ordered from Aliexpress, And its a lot of items. All arrived by Canada post except one. It was delivered by Dragonfly just last week. Just be aware if you order anything from Aliexpress, You can change the shipping options. Some shipping options say NO tracking and it boggles the mind how any parcel can enter Canada without a tracking number. Refunds come slowly as they like to make sure its not delivered within a set time frame. I am waiting on 2 refunds and they were ordered in February and March. Try and avoid any shipping with Cainio as it never seems to arrive. Not even sure why they use them.
