Boots on the ground, google earth will show hidden moosey spots , half a mile from roads good place to start, locate old cutlines, skid trails etc.
Find your spots, mixed terrain, when in doubt ask Jelvis.
    Good luck!

I do plan on heading up and looking for spots. I was just hoping for even a small amount of guidance as to where to even start looking.

I like drinking beer and whiskey, shooting guns, jetboating, love a nice rack and a tight line, I am simply a sophisticated redneck...

Depends on which cabin you are in you can hunt right from the porch! This has been tried and verified true.

There are hundreds of trails in the area, as well as the Gold Rush SM trail network. You won't have time in one summer to even begin to get a sense of the network of trails and spots to hunt.

Whitetails showing up in the area more often now as well.

Thanks for the tip, I think I'll go up and scout around and put in for moose.

I'm not looking for moose. I'm looking for deer. If I said your posts in this thread were useful I would be lying. It's quite the opposite.

If anyone is interested I saw a large bull just north of Desmond Lake last year.

The area I hunted was bounded by Surrey Sussex Road to the west, the unnamed road to the north, Coquihalla Highway to the east, and Desmond Lake to the south. I spotted the moose while walking from the unnamed road to the north heading south to the lake.

Yea, gone are the days of sensibility. Most any one that was good here has left because of all the nonsense, so it just shows further.

Its been a few years, but most of the clearings I hunted there are now grown in, so can't really suggest things better. I do know that there have been more and more grizz in the area with a sow and yearly cubs towards the east of rail lk.
