    Green Lake-70 mile

    Hi All,
I'm looking for some advice on Green Lake in 70 Mile. Thinking of going there to fish this Saturday for Koks and bows and I have never been there. I am going to concentrate on the west end I think. I see there are a few public campgrounds there with boat launches. Does anyone know if the gates are open for access yet? I see they don't operate until May 15 so wondering if there is lake access or is there a bunch of boat launches accessible like most of the big lakes in the Cariboo? Any advice is appreciated on spots for the spring or best ways to get on the lake. Cheers,
    LMW

I grew up fishing Watch lake up the road from Green. Way better fishing. We never did very well at Green and used it more for water sports.
Mind you this was 25 years ago. Maybe things have changed. Green is a beautiful lake at all times of the year

My limited knowledge on Green Lake is that it’s not really a fishing lake . More a water sports lake .
As the above poster mention Watch Lake is a way better choice

Thanks guys. I don't like to name lakes on the web too often but when talking about the big lakes with I don't have a problem with it. I know it hasn't had a great rep for fishing but I have fished most of the other lakes around 24 so I thought I would give it a try. I am thinking of launching on the north west end to maybe avoid the wind a bit, especially for coming off in the afternoon. Saturday looks like shitty weather so a scouting trip may have to wait.

I only catch these at Green Lake. Are they good to eat?

Ever since the fires a couple years back they are catching hogs out of Green, most cabin owners are fishing with a bobber and worm right off the dock and catching impressive fish! Greens a lot quieter nowadays, don’t get me wrong still powerboats etc but not near as many!
I like drinking beer and whiskey, shooting guns, jetboating, love a nice rack and a tight line, I am simply a sophisticated redneck...
