Potential danger to humans and wildlife from harmful pesticide discovered in fish at 10 times safety limit
Residues of the insecticide DDT have been found to persist at “alarming rates” in trout even after nearly six decades, potentially posing a significant danger to humans and wildlife that eat the fish, research has found.
Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, known as DDT, was used on forested land in New Brunswick, Canada, from 1952 to 1968. The researchers found traces of it remained in brook trout in some lakes, often at levels 10 times higher than the recommended safety threshold for wildlife.
Josh Kurek, an associate professor in environmental change and aquatic biomonitoring at Mount Allison University in Canada and lead author of the research, said that DDT was a probable carcinogen that hadn’t been used in decades in Canada, “yet it’s abundant in fish and lake mud throughout much of the province at shockingly high levels”.

i wonder if there are any dumps near the lake that could be leaching old barrels buried somewhere...In Dryden Ont they used mercury in the papermill until they figured out in the 70's it was poisoning the massive river system downstream...the levels of mercury slowed then increased again recently...apparently they buried barrels of it on site near the river...a whistleblower talked about being ordered to bury the mercury barrels

In addition to DDT and Mercury poisoning, there's glyphosate. Used in many herbicides, still today. Such as Roundup. Monsanto says there is no direct evidence that it causes cancer. However those studies are usually paid by Monsanto. My thoughts are compounds or chemicals that are killers of nature are probably killers of people.............eventually. It is widely used in the food industry one way or another.
We don't really know the negative effects on humans and the big business doesn't care.

1 min video from the good old days.
They’ve been trying to give us cancer and trying to kill us for decades. Nothing has changed except for how they market the poisons.
We are worth far more to them sick than healthy.
