Bring back the grizzly bear hunt.
I put in 5 draws every year. No buano
I like drinking beer and whiskey, shooting guns, jetboating, love a nice rack and a tight line, I am simply a sophisticated redneck...

There are a lot of non hunters, leaf lickers, that apply for LEH draws to 'save the animals'. You should have to buy a license and the appropriate tags before you can collect an LEH, give them 30 days then re-issue to a legitimate hunter! It might even be a good idea for the records to show a longer term of buying licenses and tags to verify the person applying is a legitimate hunter. They verify your residency, why not your status as a bon a fide hunter?

Absolutely a great idea, no licence bought by a certain date, then back into the pile for 2nd choices. (Makes way too much sense)
Even if the leaf lickin, blue/red haired, bolts in the face antis, buy a licence, it’s a win for our f’d up provincial government. .

I don't have much luck at the LEH draws, gotten moose 4 or 5 times since 1982. 2 of the last ones took 12 years between them, so I have about 8 more years to hit again!! I could be dead by then, it's a byproduct of ageing.

Well, if they are indeed entering the draw to save (instead to hunt) animals, they would not be intimidated by the species tag fees. Some anti are pretty "generous" in giving money to "save" the earth.
Life is too short and time goes too fast. Hunt, hunt, and hunt....

In Alberta, a hunter must first be qualified to purchase a hunting license (hunter safety and WIN card).
Before 2020, anyone could apply in the draw without a license, then purchase a license and draw tags (if/when qualified), or not.

Starting in 2020, a person was required to purchase a hunting license Before entering the draw.

From 2019 to 2020 licensed hunters INCREASED by 25%.

This showed that a great number of hunters that didn't hunt every year purchased a license in order to apply in the draw.
Unknown is how many unqualified (perhaps antihunters) dropped out of the draw....

Alberta has yet to re-institute a requirement to pay for the draw tag before applying.
    This may still happen....

I worked in Ontario from 2016 to 2021. Hugh amount of anti-hunters enter the draw just to make the odds lower. They also drive around popular hunting areas and play loud music to distract hunters / disturb animals.
Too many hobbies, too little time.

Wonder if that loud music would be classed as interfering with a hunt here in B.C. ?

Well if they have to have a FWID to apply would that not also mean the hunter numbers that are posted are then false, by trying to save animals as you say they may be showing hunter numbers are on the increase, so not helping there cause.

Also by not hunting if drawn which may cause the harvest wanted not to be reached so may actually cause more permits to be allowed the next year again hurting there cause.
I would be willing to bet that there is more hunters drawn that don t actually go then there is antis Drawn. Up the price on the draws and money up front for tags etc could help in making sure its going to some one that is actually willing
    to hunt/use the draw.

If just driving by, not likely. If parked right beside your ground blind, absolutely!!
