    Headlamp recomendations

Took a dip in some saltwater while duck hunting months back now the headlamp aint workin anymore, in the market for a new one.

4 things im lookin for it to have.

Ideally what im lookin for is a normal white light, bright red light (so game cant see me on way in/out of spots in dark) the red light on my broken petzl was a piece of sh!+ good for about 1 foot infront of me, and a green light for blood tracking. Also one that comes with a rechargeable lithium ion battery but has the option to remove it and put in AAAs.

    Thanks for any feedback

I'm happy with the Black Diamond headlamps I have, they're a few years old now. 10x better than the old Petlz I had before.

I’d like to hear some opinions as well. I’ve looked for a new headlamp a few times and I always stick with my old petzl that takes aaa. The new ones seem to have lots of unneeded features like auto-brightness and more candlepower. I just want something simple where the batteries last for a long time. It doesn’t need to light up the side of a mountain a km away, just enough to bump around camp at night and last at least a week on a set of batteries.

I have black diamonds for years.
The only thing I would say, don't buy unless you tried and liked the illumination.

Been running the Petzl Tactikka for a few years now.

Have yet to find something that makes me complain about them.

Love my petzl tikka I think it’s called.
I use it lots, and the rechargeable battery is still going strong after 4-5yrs.
I can also use AAA batteries, if I’m away from electricity to charge it.

We are running a couple of Fenix headlamps. Model #’s HM61R, and a HL60R. Both fully rechargeable with very lengthy run times, will do anything that you referred to in your description.

Black Diamond for me. I like the lightweight/compact design and has lasted 8 years so far.

I've been running a Sofirn D25LR for a few of years now.
The red light is very bright. White light is no slouch either.
    18650 battery - USB-C charging.
Yup, made in china but almost everything is these days.
Ordered direct from Sofirn. Took 2 or so weeks to arrive.
Cheap enough to buy 2 or three for the price of a name brand.
I've ordered quite a few for hunting buddies who see it and want one.
None of us have had any issues.
Not sure if tariffs apply, but highly recommend looking at.
