    2025 Spring bear derby.

Well guys, it’s that time of year again..

I am contemplating putting on another Bear derby.. live vicariously through all of you guys since I can hunt a fraction of the amount I used to, with two under two . And a new job.

I will post the official thread outlining the rules and what not on the last weekend of March, and I believe it’ll be the same as the last one.. no measuring size or anything, just a picture of the bear a write up about your hunt and a cut tag and you have an entry. Two entry maximum per person and prizes will be shipped out early July
posts must be made in the official entry thread by first day after bear season ends to qualify.

I am going to supply at least a $100 GC for the youth division and a $50 GC to the adults.

that being said, if anyone else is interested in donating prizes or anything along those lines reach out to me in the next week or two and we will get all the details hashed out.

I’ve reached out to a couple businesses but the main one that supported this derby has since closed its doors so that’s not an option anymore.

Right on, Ryo! I've got quite a few in the youth category who look forward to the bear season. They all ask every year if there is a derby, ever since my oldest won a .22 magnum about 5 years ago. I remember fishing derbys with my dad. The fishing was always a highlight, but winning a tackle box was seared into my memory. Glad to see this up and running again. I'll ask around to see if there's any gifts that I can rustle up as well.

Good on ya Ryo... sorry to hear you can't get out much... I suggest getting their nap times in sync if not already, throw em in your rig for nap time with your partner and get out there lol... that's what I did with my kid when he was that age (easier with only 1 I know)..

Don't see why not? It's not about size, its about participation. That is up to Rhyo to decide though! moosin

    thanks for the chuckle.
lower mainlanders can participate as long as they don’t hunt 3-13 or 8-5. I don’t want to share my bear spots.

but in a serious note, all legal hunters with a valid bear tag can participate. Up to two entries per person.

I am going to post the final details hopefully this weekend but it may be the following depending on how work goes but well before the April 1 start to the season either way.

Absolutely not, you guys keep voting for the NDP and screwing the rest of the province, so no,you’re not allowed to participate until you change your voting habits.

I vote conservative, but hunt turkeys. Can I enter a gobbler?
If we’re not supposed to eat animals, how come they’re made out of meat?
