    New dog in the house

Our new pup finally arrived on Valentine's Day. Her name is Aspen, she is a Bracco Italiano.
My little girls completely fell in love at first sight. They have been asking for a dog for years and had no idea that their wish would come true. The pup is pretty smart and taking to training well so far.
I was raised with labs, golden retrievers and Jack Russel terriers so this is my first pointing breed. Lots to learn on my end.

    My favorite training book: https://www.amazon.ca/How-Help-Dogs-...s%2C569&sr=8-1

    YMMV.

    Nice pup!

I will have to get that book. So many different training methods it’s hard to figure out where to start.
she has taken well to clicker training so far. Thanks

Yeah. Everyone has 'their way' to train. I had no idea so I read a bunch of books. This was my favorite. I wouldn't be surprised if someone else told you they hate this book but I really liked the approach.

The dogs figure it out if you're consistent. They just want to have fun like us.

A little beauty, but, pardon my lack of expertise, looks like German Shorthair pups I've had.

Lots of people ask if she’s a German shorthair. Colourings are pretty similar but the Bracco has more of a hound look in the face. Longer ears and droopy hound lips.
these dogs are also known for the style in which they trot when covering ground. It’s a very distinct movement that most dogs don’t have.
shes very smart and makes me feel like I’m a good trainer even though I’m completely new at it.
