    Re: Vortex warranty

I've needed to use their warranty twice, once on a cheap nomad spotter once on razor binos. In both cases, damage was my own fault.

They repaired the spotter and replaced my binos.

Probably not too many scopes out there that would do a whole lot more mounted on a .50 BMG

It depends what the intended purpose and rating of the scope is. I knew I was pushing my luck with the Viper. I also had a older high end series Leupold scope on a 50 that lasted into the thousands of rounds which didn't surprise me as it was rated for that.

I lost the bino stud for my tripod mount, they sent me a new one without any question.

It's not the greatest gear, but the service seems excellent.

I just sent in the eyepiece from a Gen1 razor spotter 20-60x85. The eyepiece has a bunch of what looks like small bubbles when viewing at 20x zoom. I'm thinking it's an issue with one of the coatings on the lenses.

Last time I sent in an ancient Ranger 1500 rangefinder that quit, they sent me back a new viper 3000 unit as a replacement. Very happy with the warranty process so far.

    Re: Vortex warranty

I broke the ocular housing on my brand new Helix HD rifle scope by Element optics. Did it while trying to adjust the power setting with heavy winter hunting gloves zooming in on a cow moose to verify it did not have antlers. Didn't realize that I'd done this till I got home from the hunting trip and was cleaning up the rifle. Sent Element a email, the next day I recieved a email from the company where I ordered the scope through (AGS) they told me that they were sending me a shipping label and to return the scope it was going to be replaced. I responded and asked if they needed the entire contents with everything that came in the original box. They said no just the scope. Three weeks later I received my brand new scope in the box with everything that came with the original purchase. So now I have double everything. That's a pretty god dam good warranty and service if you ask me.

I’ve got the same spotter same problem, please post back what they ended up doing for you. This will decide whether I send it in as is, or if it accidentally rolls down a cliff. Ha-ha
