Used to send mine via registered mail with signature required. I wanted to make sure they received it.
The last time I used the online tool. Very easy to do. License showed up in less than three weeks.

Might be processed more quickly online as well. If you do it online, don't forget to do your payment and if it is an RPAL, make sure the CFO has a copy of a gun club membership.

And renew early. Some people get them back in a couple weeks, some take up to a year with no rhyme or reason for the delay. Remember the Liberals intentionally underfund this department just to make it a more painful process for the firearms owning public that they have so much disdain for.
Applied for my renewal in August, still waiting, I'm now expired. I logged onto the website and have been told it's been approved and sent. Of course there was a postal strike in there so who knows where my PAL is

Follow up after a month. Be persistent, I heard every excuse until a nice lady chatted w me and actually manually submit the entry while I was on the phone. Took under 10min and the card was in my mailbox 3 days later.

Online is pretty easy to do, have a downloaded picture ready to attach. My RPAL unfortunately got caught up in the PO strike situation so my RPAL had expired for @ a month, RPAL arrived yesterday.

Definitely do it online. You submit it at a Service BC, in paper format, you have a lot less control over the timing of the process. Manage expectation. Online is fast, simple and more efficient for Gov to process.

Yup, and quicker, unless it's an RPAL then it can still take awhile...
