Apologies if this thread already exists, but I'm looking for opinions on the lightest weight tripod that would be viable for a Leica Televid 77. The scope is 'new to me' and weighs 3lb 7oz with the eyepiece. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
Im using a sirui with tricer lp pan head. Been pretty happy with it so far, but i'm only you thing an ATC.
Are you going to be mostly sitting and glassing, or do you want to stand and glass As well. My next tripod is going to be the aziak back country light. Its 20.4oz
Depends on your budget, if you want a sitting or standing tripod, how many leg sections. But there is a lot of good tripods these days. Aziak, tricer, slik, outdoorsmans, sirui.
This is my setup, it's light, tough and works well with an angled 85mm where I can sit/stand and enjoy a stable view. Also easy to scan lots of territory with the smooth video head.
1) SIRUI VA-5X Fluid Video
2) SIRUI AM-124 Carbon Fiber Tripod with Triangular Center Column, 62.6" Compact Travel Tripod
Haney,BC and anywhere you can hunt in BC out of the rain !

Re: Light Weight Tripod
I use the SLIK PRO CF 634 carbon fiber tripod and a Sirui K10x fluid ball head for my Leica 82mm spotting scope, I wouldn’t call it ultralight but light enough and very stable for viewing.
