New Scope for my 7MM-08

So I just received a early Christmas present and was given a gift card to Cabelas for 500 dollars. I am looking for a scope for the new gun and don't want to actually put a lot of money into this if any.

Has anyone recently bought a scope from cabellas in this price range that you can recommend. They are having a sale right now also so some is a lot cheaper.

I don't really shop at cabellas as I like to support the smaller shops as you get a lot better service BUT I already have this gift card so I am looking for something that would make sense.

Why would you want 40x on a hunting scope? I’m assuming we’re talking hunting scopes here…

Always used 40x on my rifles and they seem to be doing the trick.

I am thinking that you must mean 40mm objective lens diameter. If that Mia is the case, the Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16x44 is on sale right now.
