What do COs do after receiving RAPP reports?

A while back, I was watching a YouTube video on a popular BC off road channel and they showed people in their group chasing and catching grouse with their hands, in the spring time. Didn’t sit well with me that the channel was essentially promoting and profiting from harassing wildlife, so I reported it.

Within a week, the CO phoned to follow up and thank me for the report - no details on what f charges were pressed, it they definitely do receive and check the reports.

Glad to hear they investigated your report, those ppl should be charged..

Funny you should ask I filed a Rapp report yesterday, not only did he phone me back i also got the opportunity to speak in person when he arrived. so yes they respond.

Interesting, weve had a neighbor engaging in illegal trapping and baiting for years and after 4 reports on him I just gave up. I told him if I find another trap on my property Ill wring his neck with it. I dont need my dog getting hurt in it

Up until covid we quite often had a CO at a lot of our regular Rod & Gun Club meetings. We also rode with them on "information" rides with our ATV Club, some times into vehicle restricted areas doing camera checks, etc. Lots of info was provided to both clubs. We have and have had a great bunch of COs in our area.

A lot of areas are only restricted for the purposes of hunting - you can drive with motorized vehicles if not hunting.

In personal experience;

-show up at your residence even though the reported acts took place miles from your property and you told them your not home.

-repeatedly ask the same question in the same conversation until I got fed up and hung up.


since then I have never and will never contact the CO service again.
