    It’s wild how gunshots don’t phase a rutted out elk. Last years rifle kill had a big bull bugling at me for a hour after I shot his little brother.

    great story, I like the mass on that one. Good job old friend.

    I kept this story to read on ferry this morning. It helped with killing half an hour. So familiar, misplaced tools/calls, and successful harvest in the last day.
    Life is too short and time goes too fast. Hunt, hunt, and hunt....

    Hey great write up and a great bull, congrats! FYI when they do a nervous grunt like that it's for 2 reasons: they're either warning the other elk to get out of dodge, or they're asking you to show yourself- they want to see the elk they are communicating with..
