The last guy to see him wrote a letter to the local news. Turns out the dog was only 18 months old and scared of gun shots. Wrote that it looked like he was trying to grab the dogs collar.

Also a sad story, but a different story!!

Ugh... I really feel this was a mental health problem. My mother has been diagnosed with onset dementia and this hits me in the feels. I supposed it could be foul play too. Not sure what's worse.

Sorry to hear Lugg. Yes sometimes the first sign can be a full on episode. In other cases in can be a slow progression and very minor for many years.

Whatever happened here is tragic. I'm in East Harrison now some ways up a spur hunkered down in the truck wishing I took the jeep. Some cell reception tho, tough to beat. Saw a deer on the way up too on the mainline and a bow hunter was moving in on it.

I'm about 10km from where I think that van was found but I'll be keeping an eye out for anything while I'm moving through the timber after BT's or basket of mushroom consolation prize

Edit: Just found an update. There is a camera that shows that she is driving her van on Hicks Road by East Harrison on October 25th around 4pm. It shows her in the drivers seat. Nobody in the passenger seat. Obviously can't tell if there is anyone in the back, but for sure she is driving.

That supports the possibility of an Alzheimer’s or dementia theory. You would think dogs could track her from the vehicle. Rain would degrade the scent a fair bit, but they would still get some direction I think. My dogs can certainly follow scent from birds etc a day or so after they pass.

Sounds like this will have a sad ending.
If we’re not supposed to eat animals, how come they’re made out of meat?

Wouldn't cadaver dogs be able to track living or deceased regardless of rain . Sad to have a mother go missing like this

We're up there once in a while due to other areas being closed / gated. I'm either in a blue Jeep TJ or a black 2022 Nissan Frontier Pro4X King Cab with a black Leer topper
