Oh how people love to complain... every year "just not talking this year" "too much competition" "too many wolves" "wrong moon phase" "too hot out" "must have been a late rut"
I could go on and on.. makes me laugh every time

Only shoot small bulls near the road
"15 hours hunting and no elk"
LOL
Absolutely. Although people are justified in saying there’s an increase in hunters, a lot more access, logging, etc. I can only speak for my area where I hunt. Elk numbers have tanked the last 6-7 years. Canfor has decimated entire mountains, giant cut blocks everywhere. There really isn’t much backcountry left, roads into almost every drainage. Definitely an increase of hunters the last couple years. Do I complain about it now and again? Yep, but at the end of the day, cover more ground, find new areas and just hunt harder. Areas I’ve hunted that have held elk year after year, this season have been dead, no elk to be found. I moved around a bit, checked out new spots, found the elk. Our crew went 8 for 8 last year. We’ve gone 6/8 so far this year filling our elk tags. Personally I’m 9 years in a row now. Expanding horizons, hard work and knowledge. I find the majority of people that b***h about the previously stated issues, are the ones that have no idea how to hunt elk. That being said, good luck to all who get out there and put the time in.
People need excuses… helps them sleep better at night
18 hours walking the bush now. Seen 3 cow elk today.
You guys are all so nice.
Steven I moved almost a year ago. Hard hunting a new area.
Where did they all go? I had 2 6X6's and a 5X5 on my trail cam.
Heard 22 shots over the last 4 days.
And when people and moderators make fun of your story, well it will be my last story.

The challenge of retirement is how to spend time without spending money.
The worst day slinging lead is still better than the best day working.
Look around is there someone you can introduce to shooting because that’s the only way we will buck the anti gun trend sweeping Canada! "tigrr 2006"
I’m not making fun of your story. Glad to know you’re putting in time. It’s tough, as the old saying goes, if it was easy, it’d be called shopping, not hunting. You’ve put in 18 hours, now put in 19, then 20. Don’t stop till the last minute of the last day. I don’t know how many times I’ve put days and weeks in, seeing and hearing nothing. All it takes is literally a split second for everything to change. In my opinion, the only excuses a guy should have are he didn’t try hard enough, or that’s hunting. Keep grinding And good luck.
Success rates in 7A Omineca are around 10%, and that's with a 39 day 6pt season and antlerless LEH in winter
Harvest Stats don't lie. 95 days of effort per kill
Skeena with a 9 day 6pt season, won't be much better odds
