Region 3-46

Good Day

Has anyone hunted WMU 3-46.firstly Im not lookign to steal areas Im just asking how to get into that area to hunt.

We have spent many hours scouting the area trying to find FSRs and have failed miserably weve always run into trails and parks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Well at least it won't be crowded

never hunted there, but have done a boat trip, thats some big wilderness for sure

3-46 is the portion of Wells Grey Park that is open to hunting from Sept 20th on (WMU 3-45 in the park is closed to hunting). There's really only one primary road in the park Clearwater Valley rd - and there's no shooting 400m on either side of the road. A lot of remote untouched country, not much for FSRs...

We applied for LEH ( seeing the odds were so favourable ����*♂️) and were successful for Moose

I’ve had that draw several times, boat access only to Azure Lake, thick as heck and not much areas to really go on foot, usually all moose are shot on the beach at upper Azure River, beautiful country but a crappy draw in relation to normal draws… we had our fun but I wouldn’t go back, just not into it. Good luck

Trying to remember an old post from years back.

It went something like this….”I’d rather slam my nuts in the truck door than hunt moose in 3-46”….and that was from a very successful hunter.

Hunting fresh sign and/or calling are your only hope really....thick country, but there are moose there...

We have had this draw,took a boat all the way up to the top end of Azure lake.(this is where the moose are most accesable )
Make sure you are there on opening day ! We were acouple days later and some moose were already shot and the rest chased up river (we were to late and didn't get one)
maybe bring a canoe or boat that can go up river (it's not a big river)
The river between Clearwater and azure lake can be a little difficult depending on water levels and amount of rain be carefull ,but very passable.
Even though we didn't get a moose it was one of our best adventures great fishing ,BEAUTIFUL area.

Just saying, this area is so thick, there’s no where really to hunt except to wait, like SSS says, slam your nuts in the door,
