That group of goats has been there for 40+ years herd of 20-30 never anymore or any less . No great goat habitat . Lots of cougars and now the wolfs have moved in there so going to be tougher times for them .
There never has beeo a LEH or GOS on them there and hopefully there never will be .

Agreed. I think our government should also award wolf and cougar hunter some bounty to promote predator hunting.

I boated across from Okanagan Lake Provincial Park dock to Buchan Bay of Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park. Saw five goats but all nanny, distance from 50m to 500m. My group's boat is a 4-person aluminium boat with a 9.9hp engine which cannot handle too much wave, so we had to return due to windy weather. Does anyone know where I can find boat ride service (pre-arranged drop-off / pick-up time) in Peachland or Summerland? Please let me know, thanks.

Dont know of any boat ride service taxi in the south Okanagan . Maybe check with some local marina's or maybe a few of the fishing charter guys to see if anyone still has there boats in the water . Okanagan Lake in November can be very interesting to say the least .

Thanks folks. My group had four hunters so the pack out was not too bad. Snow in the afternoon made my descend a lot slower since it was very difficult to keep balance, but we made it. Props to Matt who gave my group a boat ride; this hunt was impossible without his help. I recommend anyone who plans to hunt goat (LEH or GOS) to work on fitness twice as hard as you planned to do so. Goat hunt is not for fainted heart. Good luck to all!

Whats the story here? spotted it on the boat and put a stalk on it? How far up from the lake did you have to go? Would appreciate the full story. Thanks for sharing!

Attempted to spot from boat, no goats seen.

    Number of goat spotted:
    - September scouting trip (no boat, all on foot): 0
    - Early November hunt: 0 from boat, 5 on foot (all nanny)
    - Mid November hunt: 0 from boat, 3 on foot (1 was a billy got shot)

Hike was about 4 km one way with 400m elevation gain (if lucky enough to spot billy from the first ridge. If not, hike down that ridge and up the next ridge is required). Wind plays a big part in this hunt; the reason why my early November hunt was unsuccessful was because the wind direction was unfavorable and I could never close distance to the goats.
