Nice, someone up north is breeding them, costly though!??

I know of their dogs. I believe I've run into or been messaged by an owner or two regarding training practices for hunting them. They seem to be well bred dogs. When I bought my pup they were being sold for About $1800 Cdn.,,,,down in the States the going rate was $1500 but that was 8 years ago. Eight years ago, for my griff it was ($1400) ,,,, bred in Quebec from a very good breeder but I had to fly out to Montreal to get her on what points I had left. The price of these Yukon WPG pups does not sound unreasonable for a well bred bird dog based on what other bird dog breeds sell for, not to mention what people are paying for mutts/doodles these days ($4000+) which is outrageous, IMHO, for a mixed breed mutt.
As far as I know, the griff breeders in the Yukon do health clearances on all the dogs they breed which is super important, they give a 24 month warranty on any genetic disorder or health issue on their pups, the pups are registered with the CKC, they're chipped, and they sell to hunting families only which I feel is super important since that's what these dogs were bred and developed for. Not to hunt them is doing them a disservice.
I bet if you check around you'll see that labs, Brittanys, GWPs, shorthair pointers, etc. go for a similar price,,,,, maybe more?
