Cleaning rifle on backpack/fly in hunt

If you have a 2 or 3 week hunt away from everything, and you use your rifle and get an animal in the first week do you bring a bore snake pre lubricated, not clean your rifle at all what do you do?

I don’t clean for the whole season unless the rifle gets really wet or dirty. After I clean it I’ll put 3-5 fouling shots through it and tape the muzzle.

Usually bring a bore snack and that’s it…and sometimes also have a silicone rag in the same bag.

No reason to clean after a few shots, I do it once a year, UNLESS for some reason my accuracy is down, and everything it still tight . You do not clean after every shot at the range

I have always sighted in a few weeks or a month before season.
Don't clean it so no need for fouling shots to bring it back to where it should be.
Tape the muzzle and take a dry bore snake for any build up that might occur.

I won this little field kit from Hoppe's a few years ago at a fishing derby.

I used to carry it backpack hunting when I first got it, but never used it. As stated before, I sight my rifle in and then put tape on the muzzle and unless i drop the gun, I wouldn't clean it. Hence...never using the kit. I have though...used it with buddies, a few times over the years. Their guns were off for whatever reason and had to be cleaned. TBH, I would not have bought the kit if I didn't win it, but now that I have it, it rarely leaves my truck/camp during hunting season.

I would pack something along just in case you get a pine needle or something in the barrel. Other than that, clean every 5 seasons. lol.

I clean the action at least once per year, but I don’t always clean my barrel. I’ll wipe down the bolt, clean the raceways and front side of where your lugs lock in on the action.

Basically what I do.... and I always bring a bore snake on me in the field now, not having one cost me a huge WT buck once...

I had a handload bullet stick in the chamber once when unloading. Tried to cut a stick small and strong enough to shove it out because I had no rod with me. Had to stop by another hunter's camp and ask if he a cleaning rod. He did and we popped the bullet out.

In response to the question. Why do you have to clean the barrel unles you have taken a header into a mudhole and planted the open barrel muzzle down into it? I like to make sure I have taken a few shots out of mine and like others, keep it taped over after that.

I had a handload get stuck in the chamber once...was on old load given to me so I thought I would let my buddy try the gun and shoot some random rounds. That was a mistake! Was sketchy as hell ramming the rod down the pipe with a live round stuck...I did use the rod from that field kit though...lol.
