    Crying Girl Graham Halfway Rd

I used to hunt this area but its been 10 years. We had moose and deer success most years and saw elk although I never connected . Mainly just asking about access from Hudson. Looks like the old bridge by the graham river has disappeared on google earth. Seems like you need to take Haystack Rd now to upper Halfway. My questions are is; is it best to take Beryl Prairie to haystack then head back to Crying girl. I know the area ISH in between, I'm sure its changed but excited to go check out the old stomping grounds. How long from the Halfway River bridge to crying girl as I forget?

    Cheers Nate

Crying girl has to be about 20km from Halfway, been about 10 years for me too, remember last time we were there a azzhole grizzly was always lurking around. Beautiful country though, campsite is awesome and great fishing back then.

The bridge on the Haystack has a 3/4 weight rating on it currently due to broken cross members. It was due to be replaced last summer but as far as I know it hasn’t happened yet.

You can’t get across it if you are dragging any type of trailer at all - has lock blocks at each side that you have to wiggle around. Although those might have been replaced with screw piles for blockades.

Best option is to go through FSJ up to the Mile 95 and just drive in that way.
The road was surfaced and calcified all the way to within 2km of Crying Girl last fall. Basically a 100kph+ road now, smooth as pavement.

No idea, did the area get burnt? Last time we were there it was early October(10 years ago) and it snowed 4” , our camp got two moose that day …. Never seen any elk

Everyone and their dog will be going in there, it's going to be quite the gongshow.

Yup, go through the 95. They’ve been grading it pretty well recently so lots of campers/rec users so have fun haha

I don’t want to derail but I’ve been looking at the road system that takes you from the end of the halfway into 7-36 . I’ve heard the bridge over the graham is no longer there ? Could a person ATV in there ? Thanks

It's quite the zoo in there these days. Never seen so many ATV's and camps. They moved the moose season out of the rut too so you have to hunt the hot, buggy early season or the post rut and then worry about snow coming out if you're at the back end. It's too bad because it was one of our favourite and most productive spots. We haven't bothered going back in 5 years now. Interested to see how you make out. I do miss that country. Lots of Gbears too as mentioned above so prepare to have some encounters with them.

No Kidding, expected though when the rest of the region is essentially closed minus two 2-day token offerings
Was anticipating more changes this year to handle the hunter migration, but the drums must have been silenced
Glad to say I have hunted Northern BC

Simon Fraser had pretty good judgement on what he found in BC
