The Fraser River's trusty debris trap and its Chilcotin challenge
A trap built to keep Vancouver's shores and waterways clear of wood faces one of its biggest tests

The debris is sorted and processed depending if it's merchantable quality or not. Much of it is ground into hog fuel if it's of low quality. Some is used for habitat and stream restoration projects across the province if it meets the parameters conservation organizations are looking for (root wads, particular species, diameters, and length, etc etc.).
