    Want a Crossbow but...

I am looking to get into archery again - by again I mean I haven't shot a bow since the late 1900's. But I keep hearing rumors that crossbows are being reviewed for exclusion from archery seasons as their capability keeps inching towards rifle accuracy at 75+ yards. Anybody heard any news as to whether or not crossbows are going to be kept inclusive to the archery seasons?

Latest regulations for the next 2 years just came out. Horizontal bows are still considered archery just like vertical bows

Just get one. Even if they do exclude them from archery season someday, they're still awesome to hunt with

they are still included in bow seasons, get one, they are fun, just make sure if you get a target block to practise that it can handle crossbows

There was some discussion of that a couple years back.
Then that was altered to removing scopes from crossbows.
The backlash was instant and huge.
    Case dropped.

I run a Block Target for my Excalibur Matrix 380.
Works very well with broadheads and field points.

    Cheers

Even if they one day exclude crossbows from archery season, I’ll still primarily hunt Whitetail and turkeys with my xbow during GOS.
I started with an xbow and harvested my first game with one 5 years ago when I first got into hunting so most of my self taught “learning” since then has been with the thought of hunting within bow range in mind…feels weird if I’m cutting shooting lanes for 100-200y rifle shots now, so when I’m scouting, looking for shooting lanes or impromptu ground blinds I always find myself thinking of the close game. Love it though, lots to think about hunting whitetail from close quarters.

I have a “slow” Excalibur model that shoots 305fps, so my max ethical range is no more than 30y. I’ve had faster Excalibur bows but my back is screwed from a 15’ ladder incident years ago so I went back to a slower bow, easier on my back.

there’s some good deals to be had online for used or slightly used Excalibur bows online. Something like Nog is shooting is one of the nicest out there imo, deadly reliable and fast too. He’s the xbow expert though so he can fill you in

I have a brand new carbon express X-blade. Won it in a Xmas draw thing. It has a scope and 3 bolts. I shot it 3 times and it definitely works!!!
PM me a phone number for a couple photo's and if you’re interested I’ll give ya a good deal.

Any online classifieds for looking at used crossbows for sale. If you mean crossbow information in general, Excalibur crossbow forum is pretty good. Or do a search online, there are plenty of other archery forums with excellent information
