Great pics guys...hey Observer did you get anytime to hunt that bull elk?
Yeah, I was in there for opener. Slipped into a drainage for first light and called a 5 point literally as soon as I got down in there. Well he came in to 8 yards across a meadow chucklin and droolin, while he was standing spittin distance infront of me lookin around for another Bull I hear stampeding hooves running right at me from behind, it was another Bull and I figure it was that 6. He got my wind. Then he didnt show up on cams again. This is solo and has happened to me before and I think I figured out why wont be doin it again. Too bad the 5 didnt have one more, had dozens of clean shot opportunities without moving a muscle.

Darn....ya we had the same kind of luck this season...had shot opportunities on 2 different 6 pointers but they weren't really ethical shots, and I always have it in the back of my mind how tough elk are...but part of me really wishes I had taken the shot on the one...
